Community Sales Agent: Smart Solar Jobs in Kenya

An innovative, socially conscious solar company is looking for Community Sales Agents to promote and market Solar energy products to local communities.

Community Sales Agent (3 positions)


The Community Sales Agent will be responsible for effectively developing relationships through networking with CBO’s, Women’s Groups and local communities to introduce our solar concept as an Income Generating Activity, and marketing our product within the local community.

This position requires the individual to recruit CBOs, introduce theincome opportunity
and do follow-ups to sign them up.

The above will be based in the following areas:

  • Nyanza Province
  • Western Province
  • Mombasa

Please note that it is preferable that candidates live in these areas, as no relocations costs will be provided.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruiting CBOs, women’s groups, and youth groups
  • Engaging in Community Promotions and presentations
  • Giving community based trainings to CBO members, Women’s groups, CBT’s and members of local communities.
  • Continually Strategising to come up with profitable ways of marketing solar product within communities
  • Organisational involvement

Qualifications and skills required:

  • Bachelor of Commerce Degree/Business Degree in Sales and Marketing
  • Proven track record and experience in successfully promoting different products in the rural communities
  • Excellent ability to build community relationships in rural areas.
  • Strong verbal references are required from a minimum of 3 past employers and supervisors
  • Previous experience in active network marketing will be considered a strong asset
  • Must be familiar with the particular rural area (region) that is being applied for
  • Experience in drawing up relevant training programmes and issuing TOT training
  • Good presentation skills, articulate, with strong written correspondence skills
  • Creative with ability to think outside the box
  • Easy ability to strike up meaningful conversation
  • Able and willing to travel around the country, especially to rural areas.
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills.
  • High ethical standards and transparent communication
  • Takes initiative in responding to tasks needing completion.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Honest
